 Chair

GORRT is seeking an experienced and visionary Independent Chair to lead our Board of Directors. The successful candidate will provide strategic direction, governance, and leadership to ensure the continued growth and success of the organisation. You will support the GM and the organisation to deliver on strategic priorities, provide leadership and direction to the Board of Directors, ensure effective governance and management of financial performance and foster strong relationships with stakeholders and partners.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a chair role, have a strong understanding of corporate governance principles, exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. The ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships is essential, along with a passion for promoting regional tourism and economic development. Key attributes include high-level communication and negotiation skills, and experience with stakeholder engagement, including all levels of government. A background in regional Victoria and/or the visitor economy, and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors or similar, will be highly regarded. This is not a remote position and there is a preference for someone located in region.

The Board’s role is to provide strategic direction, governance, and leadership to ensure the continued growth and success of the organisation and foster strong relationships with stakeholders and partners.
