We want to show our potential visitors, firsthand, the breadth and depth of what our expansive region has to offer. Our exciting partnership with content creator and influencer @micro_adveturist, aka Lauren Doolan, is now in full swing.

Lauren brings in family and friends across our wide Great Ocean Road region to create curated content. Each “Great Weekend” consists of a YouTube 60 second episode, a cut down version for Instagram, a curated Instagram story + a blog.

Each week’s “Great Weekend” episode showcases a range of curated activities, experiences, accommodation, restaurants, cafes, tours, retail etc.
We promote each episode through our socials (including paid YouTube advertising) as well as housing all content on our website visitgreatoceanroad.org.au/52greatweekends. We will be utilising this quality content for a long time to come.


Lauren Doolan is known on socials as @micro_adventurist. The easiest way to get familiar is to check her out on Instagram. She is based in Melbourne and Anglesea, and shares a love for our region. You may recognise her from our Great Ocean Walk Instagram takeover last year. 

Here’s how Lauren describes herself:

“On weekdays I’m an Advertising Art Director with 18 years under my belt working on local and international brands and on weekends I’m an endlessly curious blogger and Instagrammer, also known as @micro_adventurist.”

We think it’s also worth mentioning that in 2018, Lauren won the Weleda Global Garden competition out of 10,000 applicants around the world. Lauren said this merged her love of nature, adventure and wellness with her professional skillset of photography and storytelling.
We think she is a perfect fit to showcase our region and we are excited for what’s to come.
